She completed her education and obtained her Arizona Cosmetology and Barbering licenses in the early 2000’s. In 2012, she opened Mia’s Hair Studio in the fashionable Down Town Scottsdale, and in 2016 the demand insisted she expand to her current location. Mia is a creative Master Stylist and Colorist, highly dedicated to her trade. Throughout her career, Mia have completed numerous certifications in different areas of the beauty industry. Her experience in trendy hair color, balayage, precision cutting, eyelash extensions, special occasion styles and hair extensions among others, allows her to listen and understand her clients desires and needs, transforming words into art.

Distinctions SalonHello Distinctions family my name is Sierra Kurtz and I’m so happy to be a part of such an amazing team! My passion for hair started at a young age learning how to tame my curls and blossomed into my dream career. I attended Aveda Institute Phoenix where I graduated with a license in cosmetology and over 1600 hours of hands on training. Throughout my journey so far I have gained so much knowledge on precision cutting, color theory, many types of extensions and styling including bridal and event looks. Starting before my career in cosmetology I also gained much knowledge on skincare through my background in the medical field at a surgical and cosmetic dermatology center in Scottsdale Arizona. I combined my medical knowledge and my creativity to hone in my skills to create beautiful skin and makeup transformations. I can’t wait to meet you all, and look forward to learning and growing as a stylist!
